Presentations & Courses Taught

screw-auger-falls-maine

Over the past twenty years, I’ve presented on the post-graduate level, from one-hour lectures to two-day seminars,
at numerous educational settings:

  • Smith College, Boston University, University of Southern Maine, Burlington College (Burlington, Vt.)
  • Maine Medical Center, National Association for Social Workers in Maine, National Association for Social Workers in New Hampshire, C.G. Jung Center (Brunswick, Me.), Assisi Institute (Brattleboro, Vt.), Family Institute of Portland, Maine

I have taught a wide-range of topics:

  • how to listen to clients during sessions
  • creating a secure therapeutic relationship
  • ethics of treatment
  • new developments in therapy with children and adults
  • patterns in clients and their reenactment inside and outside of sessions
  • trauma, attachment, and neuroscience
  • use of dreams in treatment
  • the development of Jung’s ideas in the 21st century
  • poetry, metaphor, neuroscience and Jungian psychotherapy

A theory is only as good as the compassion of an experienced therapist.
